HOW MUCH DO SWAPS COST?

BALLPARK PRICING INFO

The number one question we get asked is how much to swap? Ballpark pricing is challenging to give because each custom swap is as unique as each individual customer.

Goals & Options: Quotes vary widely based on your goals - is it a daily driver? show car? race car? How much horsepower do you want? Are you wanting just reliable driver or are you needing torque strength for pulling or speed for racing? Are you wanting a new motor or remanned/rebuilt motor or used junkyard dropout (junkyards are not recommended)? Are you wanting turbos, superchargers, nitro - effects pricing. Are you wanting headers, cutouts, digital dash, etc…effects pricing. How many modifications and fabrications are required is based on the year/make/model of the vehicle and effects pricing. As you can see there are many variables that effect pricing.

Don’t Believe Internet Fake Swap Prices: A swap is much more entailed than simply putting a different motor in. Many people are misled by the internet & youtube and believe the fake news that they can do a whole swap for $500 -$2000…There is no way. Parts alone for the engine, transmission, accessory drives, coolant systems, & fuel systems surpass that amount, plus there’s the swap parts to make it all compatible with the vehicle you’re putting it into. And don’t forget, there is the highly technical skilled labor of someone who has the expertise to complete the swap for you correctly with parts installed, with custom modifications & fabrications to make everything fit, get wiring harnesses & ecu’s to run correctly with one another, turn key ready to drive, calibrated & tuned to perfection. Your average mechanic or diy individual who has never done a swap before will get into many technical issues and more often than not will never get the engine running because they can’t finish the job. Swap labor takes approximately 100+ hours of labor to get to turn key ready.

Budget First: All of these details make it imperative for you to determine your budget first. Some budgets are conservative, some are mid, and some are the skys the limit with all mods, bells & whistles. That is why the first question MasterTech asks you during your custom quote is budget. We need to understand your goals & budget to help determine which recommendations are best suited to accomplish your goals.

Ballpark Prices: As you can see, ballpark pricing varies. However, we understand you need to have some idea of where to begin your budget.
